Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about getting your Canadian documents legalised
❓ What is an Apostille?
An Apostille is an official certificate issued by the Canadian government that verifies the authenticity of your document for use in countries that are members of the Hague Convention. It is the international standard for document authentication.
❓ Which countries accept an Apostille?
Over 120 countries accept the Apostille including the UK, USA, Australia, all EU countries, and many others. If the destination country is not part of the Hague Convention (like UAE, Pakistan, China), you will need Embassy Attestation instead.
❓ How long does the process take?
Our Standard service takes 3–4 business days from when we receive your documents. Our Premium service is next business day. Embassy Attestation timing varies by embassy but we will give you a clear timeline upfront.
❓ Do I need to send original documents?
For most apostilles, yes — we need the original document or a certified copy. However, for e-Apostilles on eligible digital documents, no physical document is needed. We will confirm requirements when you place your order.
❓ What is an e-Apostille?
An e-Apostille is a digital apostille issued for eligible electronic documents. It is faster, cheaper, and means you do not need to courier physical documents. We offer e-Apostille for qualifying documents.
❓ What documents can you apostille?
We apostille a wide range of documents including birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, academic degrees and transcripts, police certificates, power of attorney, company documents, and more.
❓ How do I send my documents to you?
Once you place your order we will send you our mailing address. You can courier or post your documents to us. We recommend using a tracked courier service for your peace of mind. We return all originals by tracked post.
❓ What is Embassy Attestation and do I need it?
Embassy Attestation is required when submitting documents to countries not in the Hague Convention such as UAE, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, China, and India. It involves getting your document certified by the specific country’s embassy in Canada.
❓ Are your prices all-inclusive?
Our service fee covers our work and handling. On top of this there is a government fee (for apostilles) or embassy fee (for attestation) which is set by the relevant authority — not us. We always provide a full quote before you proceed.
❓ Can I track the progress of my order?
Yes! We keep you updated at every stage via email. When your documents are processed and dispatched back to you we will send a tracked delivery reference so you can monitor the return shipment.
